Split a bill
Split by dish, by seat, into equal parts, or by amounts. Each bill gets its own number and its own tax, and together they always add up.
Till (an order) Bill… Split the bill
- Tap Split the bill.
- Choose how:
- By item: tap a dish, then the bill it goes on (hold a dish to move one of several, "1 of 4 naan");
- By seat: uses the seat numbers given while ordering; dishes without a seat go on "Shared";
- Equally: into 2 or more equal parts;
- By amount: type what each person pays; the last bill takes what's left.
- Tap + Bill or + Person for more.
- Tap Print … bills, then take each payment.
Example
Four friends, one had only a coffee
Total 126.00. By item: put the coffee (5.00) on Bill A, everything else on Bill B. Then split Bill B Equally into three: 40.34, 40.33 and 40.33. Any small amount left over goes to the first bills, so they always add up.
Example
Split equally at the payment
At Take payment, tap Split between guests, choose 3, and take each guest's share in turn ("Guest 1 of 3"). The bill stays one bill with three payments.
Splitting a bill vs splitting a payment?
Split the bill makes separate bills, each with its own number and tax (for guests who each need a receipt). Split between guests at payment keeps one bill and takes several payments.
Why don't the parts add up to the single bill exactly?
Each bill is rounded on its own, so together they can differ by a small round-off. The till shows both totals before you print.
If it goes wrong
"No seats were given while ordering"
There's nothing to split by seat. Use By item.
