Discounts and dishes on the house
Take money off one dish or the whole bill, or give a dish free. Every discount needs a reason and is saved with who gave it. Offers and meal deals apply on their own; see Offers and meal deals.
Till (an order) Bill… % Discount
- Whole bill: tap % Discount, type a percentage or an amount, pick or type Why, and Apply.
- One dish: tap the dish on the bill › Discount this dish….
- Free: tap the dish › On the house…, say why, and Give it free.
- To undo, tap the dish › Remove its discount or Charge for it again.
Example
A birthday dessert on the house
Table 3's guest has a birthday. Tap the Gulab Jamun › On the house…, reason "Birthday", Give it free. The bill shows it at no charge, and reports list it apart from discounts.
Example
10% for a regular
Tap % Discount, type 10, reason "Regular guest", Apply: "Discount 10%" shows on the bill and comes off before tax.
Is tax charged on a free dish?
It depends on your tax setting. The till says which: "Tax is still charged on its price" or "with no tax on it".
Can anyone give discounts?
Only roles with the discount permission. A big discount may need a manager's PIN. See Roles and permissions.
If it goes wrong
"Say why"
Every discount and free dish needs a reason. Pick one of your restaurant's reasons or type one.
