Connect a till or a screen

For owners and managers · updated 18 Oct 2026

A till is any tablet, iPad, phone or Windows PC with the Tillmora app, connected to one branch. So is a kitchen screen, a kiosk, a waiter's phone or a driver's phone. Nobody types your password on a shared device: the new device shows a QR, and you scan it with your own phone.

Back office Devices Connect a screen

  1. Install Tillmora on the new device, open it and choose Connect to your restaurant. It shows Connect this screen with a large QR and a 6-letter code under it.
  2. Scan the QR with your phone's camera. The back office opens on Connect a screen (sign in first if it asks).
  3. Check the Branch, then choose What is it?: Till, Kitchen screen (and the stations it shows), or under More… a Kiosk, Waiter phone or Driver phone.
  4. Check Its name (for example "Counter till" or "Oven screen") and tap Connect.
  5. Within a few seconds the device shows Connected by your name and opens: a till or a phone asks for a PIN, a kitchen screen shows its tickets, a kiosk shows the menu.

No phone at hand? Open Devices › Type a code on a computer and type the code the device shows. Or, on a till, a manager opens Menu › Add a screen and points the till's camera at it.

Example

A café's first morning

Harbour Lane Café opens Tillmora on an iPad at the counter. Olivia scans its QR with her phone and connects it as Till, "Counter till". She does the same with a tablet on the kitchen wall: Kitchen screen, stations Oven and Grill, "Hot screen". Then a waiter's Android phone: More… › Waiter phone, "Floor phone". Three devices in about a minute, and Devices shows each one with "Olivia · today".

Who can connect a screen?

The owner, an admin, or a manager whose role has Manage devices. Someone else who scans it sees "Ask the owner to connect it", and nothing on the screen changes.

How long does a code last?

10 minutes, and it works once. The screen shows a new one by itself before it runs out, so a photo of an old code can't connect anything.

Does connecting need the internet?

Yes, once, to connect. After that the till keeps selling without the internet and catches up when it's back.

The device has no camera nearby, or the QR won't scan

Type the 6-letter code in Devices › Type a code. For a device that can't show a QR at all, Connect a screen › Make a code gives a code to type on it instead: on the device, tap I have a code from the back office.

Can I change what a device is later?

Yes, in Devices: open it and change What it is or its Stations. It changes within seconds, without connecting it again.

A till lost its login. Do I connect it again?

No: use Re-link on that device in Devices, then type the code on the till under Enter re-link code. Everything saved on it stays and uploads.

If it goes wrong

"That code has run out"

Scan the screen again: it already shows a new code.

If it goes wrong

"This screen is … 's"

It's already connected to another restaurant, and a connected screen can't be taken over by scanning it. They disconnect it first; then it shows a new code.

If it goes wrong

"Connect to the Wi-Fi first"

The device needs the internet once, to connect. The code appears by itself as soon as it's online.
