Kitchen stations and tickets

For owners and managers · updated 18 Oct 2026

Set up the places where dishes are made, and how each one gets its orders.

Back office Menu Stations and categories Kitchen stations Add

  1. Open Menu › Stations and categories.
  2. Under Kitchen stations, tap Add and type the Name (on kitchen tickets), for example Bar, Tandoor or Pastry.
  3. Choose where each dish is Prepared at, on the dish or with Station… on several dishes at once.
  4. A station whose dishes are made at the counter (coffee, cold drinks)? Turn off Needs a printed ticket.
  5. Using a kitchen screen? Open the station's Kitchen screen settings and choose Kitchen screen only or Kitchen screen, printer backup, and when tickets turn amber and red.

Example

A curry house

Stations: Tandoor (breads, kebabs, butter chicken), Curry (dals and curries), Bar (drinks and lassis). Table 6 sends a butter chicken, a dal and two lassis: the Tandoor, Curry and Bar each get one ticket with only their dishes.

Example

A café with a screen for food and nothing for coffee

Coffee: Needs a printed ticket off (the barista makes it at the counter). Kitchen: Kitchen screen, printer backup; amber after 8 minutes, red after 12.

What does "printer backup" do?

A till prints a ticket marked "BACKUP" if the screen hasn't shown it within a minute, or if the screen is offline. The kitchen never misses an order.

Can I see a ticket the way the kitchen sees it?

Yes. The dish editor's preview shows its line On the kitchen ticket, with its kitchen name.

If it goes wrong

A dish printed at the wrong station

Check the dish's Prepared at in the menu. The change applies from the till's next sync; for an order already sent, reprint the ticket at the right station.
