Ways to sign in: passkeys, Google and Apple
Sign in to the back office the quickest way: a passkey (your face, fingerprint or screen lock), Google, Apple (on Apple devices), an emailed code, or your password. They all lead to the same account when the email is the same.
Back office (your name) Security Ways to sign in
- Open your name at the bottom of the sidebar › Security.
- Under Passkeys, tap Add a passkey (Touch ID) (it names your device's own check) and confirm with your face, fingerprint or screen lock.
- To use Google or Apple too, tap Link Google or Link Apple and choose the account.
- No password yet (you signed up with a code, Google or Apple)? Set a password for places where passkeys can't be used.
- Next time, on the sign-in page tap Sign in with Touch ID (or Face ID, Windows Hello), Continue with Google or Continue with Apple.
Example
An owner on an iPhone and a laptop
Sam signed up on the iPhone with Sign up with Apple. On the iPhone, Security › Add a passkey saves it to iCloud Keychain, so the iPad and Mac have it too. On the Windows laptop at the office, Sam taps Sign in with Windows Hello › Use a phone, scans the code with the iPhone, and is in; then adds a Windows Hello passkey there as well.
Example
A manager with a work Gmail
Priya was invited as priya.cafe@gmail.com. She taps Continue with Google and picks that account: it's the same login as her invitation, so nothing new is made.
Is a passkey safe? What does Tillmora keep?
Your face or fingerprint never leaves your device. Tillmora keeps only a public key, the passkey's name and when it was added and last used. A passkey only works on tillmora.com and the Tillmora apps, so a fake website can't use it.
Do I still need the 6-digit code after a passkey or Apple?
No. A passkey is already two things (the device and your face, finger or screen lock), and Apple only allows Sign in with Apple on Apple Accounts with two-factor on. Google asks for your 6-digit code too, if you turned two-step on.
Why don't I see Apple on my Windows laptop or Android phone?
Sign in with Apple is offered on iPhone, iPad and Mac only. On other devices use a passkey, Google, an emailed code or your password.
I used Apple's Hide My Email. Why is my restaurant missing?
Apple gave Tillmora a private address, so it looked like a new login. Tap Sign in another way, sign in with your usual email, then Security › Link Apple: Apple then opens your restaurant.
If it goes wrong
"The passkey prompt was closed"
The face, fingerprint or screen-lock window was closed before it finished. Tap the button again, or sign in another way.
If it goes wrong
"There's no Tillmora passkey on this device"
This device has none for your account. Choose Use a phone in the window and scan the code with the phone that has it, or sign in another way and add one here.
If it goes wrong
"That account is already linked to another Tillmora login"
That Google or Apple account signs in to a different Tillmora login. Sign in with that one, or use another Google or Apple account.
